Jaime Hernandez Contributes to the CBLDF!
Jaime Hernandez, co-creator and writer/artist of Fantagraphics’ extraordinary Love & Rockets series, has donated a black-and-white sketch to our SDCC Autograph Card/CBLDF Auction event.
Millions of people have followed the adventures of Maggie, Hopey, and all of the other characters in Jaime’s Locas stories. Now you have a chance to get your hands on a limited-edition autograph card at SDCC this year featuring Jaime’s artwork! The original artwork will be auctioned off by the CBLDF at SDCC ‘09 on July 25th, 7 p.m., at the San Diego Convention Center. Bluewater Productions Announce Michael Jackson Tribute Comic
June 25, 2009, the world was shocked by the loss of Michael Jackson, the King of Pop. Adored by millions since his debut as part of The Jackson 5 in 1968, Jackson wowed music lovers with iconic albums like Off the Wall, Thriller, and Bad.
As controversial as he was talented, Michael Jackson was a polarizing figure for many, but most can agree that he was a phenomenal performer, with 13 Grammys, 13 number-one singles, and 750 million records sold in his lifetime.
Today, Bluewater Productions announced that they will publish a comic to memorialize Jackson’s life, called Tribute: Michael Jackson–King of Pop. Due out October 28, this comics biography will celebrate Michael Jackson’s life and accomplishments, and will feature a foreword and cover by Giuseppe Mazzola, a friend of the entertainer.
With two covers to choose from, including a photo cover, this comic is a special addition to Bluewater’s line of biographical comics, including Female Force and Political Power.

Rick Lacy Contributes to the CBLDF Auction in San Diego!
Wow, we’ve got breaking news all day long about our SDCC Autograph Card/CBLDF Auction event. The latest creator to donate original artwork is Rick Lacy, the artist of Labor Days from Oni Press!
Lacy is also well-known for his work on the Hellboy Animated comics books, as well as Venture Brothers and Star Wars: Clone Wars Adventures. He will be donating a black-and-white sketch, which TFAW will use to create limited-edition, SDCC-exclusive autograph cards! The original artwork will be auctioned off by the CBLDF at SDCC ‘09 on July 25th, 7 p.m., at the San Diego Convention Center.
